Introducing Canada’s Co-operative Accountants Network

Co-operatives have distinct financial structures, governance models and reporting needs, but accounting professionals working with co-ops don’t always have access to peers, training and resources grounded in those realities.

That’s why CoopZone, Co-operatives and Mutuals Canada (CMC), the Centre of Excellence in Accounting and Reporting for Co-operatives (CEARC) at Saint Mary’s University, and the Canadian Worker Co-op Federation (CWCF) are partnering to launch Canada’s Co-operative Accountants Network: a new national network for CPAs, bookkeepers and other financial professionals working in or alongside the co-operative sector!

The free network will create a dedicated space for professionals across co-operatives, mutuals, credit unions and caisses to connect and strengthen their practice. Members will have opportunities for peer learning and knowledge sharing, co-op-specific professional development, referrals and greater visibility, and collective advocacy around accounting and financial issues affecting the sector.

Whether you already specialize in co-operative accounting or are interested in building your knowledge and working with more co-op clients, the network is an opportunity to connect with practitioners across Canada who understand the unique realities of co-operative finance.
